Apopka, Florida Speed Traps
Toll 414 turn to Toll 429
On Toll 414, speed drops from 65 to 55 going downhill through underpass and turning right up the hill to Toll 429 toward 441. State troopers wait in the shadows.
On Ponkan road 3/4 mile from turning off of Rock Springs Rd.
As you turn let off Rock Springs Road on to Ponkan, the road changes speed limits and becomes hilly and curvy. On a downhill curve, the motorcycle officer was sitting on a hill to the right, overlooking where you come out of a downhill curve. Speed limit is 35 MPH, but it is very easy to pick up speed in the downhill.
Sheeler Rd.+Cleveland st.
Almost every night u can find Apopka police sitting at the church on Sheeler and Cleveland street waiting to fly past or run that stop sign there almost every night that church isn’t going on.
City Wide
A new traffic officer has made it his misssion to stop and ticket anyperson who has a lciense tag that is scratched or bent. He also writes tickets to anyone who has a license plate frame that covers any part of the writing on the tag, even the county or ‘myflorida’ part of the tag.
On Kelly Park Rd. near Rock Springs Rd.
If you are headed east on Rock Springs Road just after you pass Plymouth Rd. the speed limit which was 45 MPH drops to 30 MPH with no warning. This could be a very active speed trap but they have not used it as yet but that could change any day. Another odd thing is that is the same area the speed limit is 40 MPH going west and 45 going east for a while.
