Dunedin, Florida Speed Traps
On Northbound Belcher between main & Curlew
County Police sit in the housing developement driveway entrance and ticket people doing over 45MPH several times a week
Evans Rd. From US-19 to Belcher
County Police sit near the school and ticket people doing over 25MPH several times a day
Palm and Greenway near golf course
The entire neighborhood around the golf course, especially on Greenway between Palm and Madeira is a hotspot..several Sheriff deputies live in the neighborhood, and are very picky on speed and oddball 3-way stop signs…
Stop signs and white pavement stripes don’t all agree…
Light at Alt. 19 and Main Street
This isn’t a speed trap, but make sure you pay attention to the right turn arrow heading south on Alt. 19 making a right turn onto Main St. It used to be a yield but now the arrow requires a full stop when red. The Sheriff sits at the corner and tickets people several times a week for going through the light.
Keene Road onto Beltrees deadends to scotsdale
Beltrees deadends to the West of Keene Road, this is a residential area. The city of Dunedin installed a 3 way stop in violation of Federal MUTCD and Florida DOT requirements that the federal regulations be followed. The sheriff officers sit in the park that is on the right side of Beltrees as you head east. Dunedin placed this 3 way stop with no engineering study and no traffic and/or accident statistics, they bang folks for $166.00 tickets and are making a good pile off it. DOT talks to you all day long but won’t put in writing and won’t take action on it.
