Jacksonville, Florida Speed Traps
Southside Blvd near JTB ramps
From both sides of JTB on Southside, the JSO has anywhere between 4 and 8 officers writing tickets after dark. Speed limit is 45 in this area so slow down as your approach after you pass Key Auto (heading South) and past The Deerwood Center (heading north).
Between JTB and Baymeadows Road on I-95 northbound
If you see a white car in the median, it is JSO shooting laser at northbound traffic, looking to nail speeders. They sit on the inside and there are typically a few sitting in front to chase down the violaters.
Cecil Field Interchange East and West on I-10
The Cecil Field interchange is at least 2 miles long and has a nice new guard rail in the middle and an area for the FHP cruisers to sit and pick off people going both east and west on I-10. Most of the time, they sit under one of the overpasses, but not always. Look for a vehicle sitting on the inside median or slow down through the area.
Tallulah Ave and W 66th St
State Troopers as well as JSO sit at Tallulah Park at the corner of Tallulah and W. 66th St. They clock cars heading east from I-95 towards N. Main St. just as they come over the bridge. The speed limit is 30 MPH and tickets are issued at 35 MPH and above. This occurs on a regular basis.
Argyle Forrest Blvd near Youngerman Circle
A covert (unmarked) silver Chevy Impala is setup near a Kangaroo convenience store/gas station east of Youngerman Circle. As traffic heads west on Argyle Forrest and goes around a curve, they tag you with Laser. The artificially low speed limit (35mph) is perfect for trapping speeders.
