They use cars, motorcycles, and dumpy Cop cars to control the speed in this area……Beware they park in the center of the road near the trees…….

Socrum Loop Road between Interstate 4 and Publix Plantation Square
Police on motorcycles sit at Socrum Loop and Fernery hidden behind the trees and watch for motorist traveling south. They also hide in the parking lots of the church and nursing home watching northbound traffic.

On the Polk Parkway heading towards I-4 in Tampa
While driving on the Polk Parkway, two highway patrolmen sit on the other side of a bridge(US 98) out of site. After they’ve picked you up on radar or laser, they radio to a State Patrolman in a Chevy Camaro. Tickets range from 80-300 depending on speed. No one travels 60 MPH on the parkway even though it’s marked so. Just beware of the bridge right before Lakeland Highlands Road.
