Miami, Florida Speed Traps
836 Extension to 137th avenue
Headed West on 836, to the left hand side where you deviate away from the Turnpike destinations and enter the extension to 137th Avenue. The speed trap is after the first curve. Police will only be in view when it is too late to slow down. Often you will see 3-5 cars pulled over.
At the intersection of North Miami Ave Nw 20 St
As you approach the intersection of NW 20 St and N. Miami Ave. there is only one lane which forms a bottle neck and due to motorists wanting to make a left turn the adjacent lane is a right turn only lane across the street typically around rush hour are is a police officer that is waiting to cite you for using the right only lane to go straight even if you are careful you are expected to wait there in traffic as long as needed this is after the new road layout funny how the road was “improved” in such a manner to limit traffic flow yet this wasn’t a problem before

Westbound SR 836 Extension from Turnpike to NW 137th Ave
In the last couple of miles of the extension of the 836 expressway from the Florida Turnpike approaching NW 137th Ave., the speed limit goes from a low and unrealistic 55 mph to a very unreasonable and unsafe 35 mph which nobody obeys because it is totally inappropriate for that kind of limited access expressway. Florida Highway Patrol and Miami-Dade Police set up speedtraps in that area and ticket pretty much everyone that drives by because it is actually unsafe to drive at such a slow speed.
