Miami, Florida Speed Traps
SW 128th St between SW 77th Ave and SW 82nd Ave
Police Car usually facing East on shoulder. Tickets Westbound traffic. Speed limit is 30 here! There every Wednesday and other days as well. This has been a speed trap for years! Pinecrest.
Extension of State Road 836 at off ramp to NW 137th Ave.
As the extension of SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway) ends at NW 137th Avenue, the speed limit drops from 55 to 35 mph. The Miami-Dade motorcycle officers, using Lidar (Laser), enforce the 35 mph lower limit on a wide stretch of road where everyone travels at around 60 mph and lots of people are being written up for 65, and up, which triggers a mandatory court appearance. Motorists have to pay a toll to use the new SR 836 extension and on top of that, they get hit with very high-priced tickets. It’s a classic speed trap.
SW 62nd Ct & N Kendall Dr
Cops with radar on corner of 62 and Kendall Dr. Typically every morning. Gone by 10am. Mostly for eastbound traffic.
836 East Expressway near Florida’s N Bound Turnpike
Florida Highway Patrol is stationed under the overpass right after the SunPass toll. For those who are familiar with the Kendall-Miami area, when heading North on the Turnpike, right before the NW 12th Street Exit, the right lane takes you towards 836 East Bound. About 2 miles in you will approach the SunPass toll, followed by the Speedtrap under the over pass about 1/4 of a mile. Speed limit is 55mph. They are hard to spot and its very easy to do well over 80+mph. I was clocked at 78mph (THANK GOD!) considering I was really doing 95mph. Hope this helps 🙂
12 Street near 77 Avenue
East bound on NW 12 Street & 77 Ave, underneath the 826 (Palmetto) Overpass. Normally 2 motorcycles with radar in hand.
