Orange Park, Florida Speed Traps
State Highway US 17 near State Route County Road 220
Between the Doctor’s Inlet bridge and the Black Creek Bridge. Highway Patrol marked cars regularly patrol and often sit in the median or turn lanes, especially at night. Clay County Sheriff’s also patrol in both marked and unmarked cars. Speed limit is 50 MPH, cars regularly do at least 60. Officers will stop you for doing 5+ over limit, but not in heavy rush hour traffic.
Blanding Boulevard near Wells Road
They sit in the parking lot of the mall or the cemetery just before the mall. They get people at end of hill speeding.
Oakleaf Plantation Parkway near Argyle Forrest Boulevard
Clay County Sheriff’s sit just into the Clay County line, in between the first turn around
Wells Road near Park Avenue
Was driving Wells Rd from the mall to 17, and didn’t see the speed limit sign right before the train tracks/curve, was going about 30 around the turn and was pulled over for speeding. I believe the speed limit around the turn (we went back to look) was about 25.
State Highway 17 near Kingsley Avenue
Heavy enforcement activity from Kingsley avenue continuing south towards Eagle Harbor (stretch of about 5 miles). Assorted departments, Clay County Sheriff’s Office sometimes by motorcycle enforcement, enforcement by FHP and heavy enforcement by Orange Park Police between Kingsley and the bridge just north of Whitney’s marina. Speed enforcement by both Laser and Lidar. FHP employs unmarked Grand Marquis slicktops, chrome wheels with heavy tinting.
