St. Petersburg, Florida Speed Traps
I275 (btwn 54th ave & Gandy exits)
FHP using lidar & radar (increasingly lidar) Northbound between 54th Ave N and Gandy exits, patrol cars either hidden by bushes in median or just past the right hand uphill curve in the left breakdown lane on the straightaway leading to Gandy exit. They are rarely sitting under the 54th Ave overpass any more, making drivers think the coast is clear once past this well known speed trap.
Sunshine Skyway Bridge
FHP at the top of the bridge, parked on the left next to concrete divider, southbound. Usually hidden by work crew vehicles just before the crest. Watch for the work vehicles!
I-275 Northbound at 54th Ave exit
They hide right behind the brush near the on-ramp
Pinellas Bayway
After you have gone through the toll area, headed toward the Don Cesar, you may not even realize there is a slight hill in the road, but when you go over the hill, you may find several police vehicles waiting to catch speeders.
Tyrone Blvd.
South of 66th Street, six to eight cars are pulling people over on both sides of the road.
