Tallahassee, Florida Speed Traps
Due west of Tallahassee on I 10
Could also be on east side of I10 also. The entire unit of troopers for this area are running a huge trap. I saw two school buses let them off at rest stop and they are hugely aggressive pulling cars over. Avoid this area like plague. Almost seems un-American to me.
North Meridian Rd. just north of I-10, a long downhill
Heading north on Meridian at the I-10 overpass the speed limit is 35 mph and stays that way for about a quarter mile down a long hill and then becomes 45 mph. It is hard not to drive over 35 mph going down the hill just coasting, and there are no speed limit signs until the 45 mph one appears. The trap is at the bottom of the hill either on the left where a tree-obscured street enters Meridian or (usually) on the right at an abandoned convenience store’s entrance.
Television Speedtrap Listing
The loacal ABC affiliate has a TPD officer announce where they will be watching for speeders during the weekdays.
Hwy 27 North aka N. Monroe between Perkins St. & Capital Cir.
Speed limit is 45 and just about anytime you go down that road, someone has been stopped by the FHP or LCSO. A school is nearby and during school hours when the speed limit drops down to 25….they are really watching you. And they need to be…..Some travelers speed through there like crazy.
Whole State of Florida
I have driven trucks all over the state of Florida from north to south and from east to west. As near as i can tell, the whole state is a speed trap and any car with a light on top can issue a ticket. Speed at your own peril.
