Winter Park, Florida Speed Traps
Fairbanks Avenue
People who have stopped at the light on Clay Street and proceed east tend to pick up speed beyond the limit due to the lack of traffic and get stopped a few blocks further by the police hiding behind a pole.
Osceola Avenue near Trismen Street
Officers catch speeders as they round the Brewer curves
Fairbanks Avenue near Nicolet Street
They sit in local business parking lot and shoot at the traffic coming east. They are standing with “bright”” vests on and step out in front of offending cars/tks to stop them.”
Interstate 4 East near Exit Number Just past 88
FHP cruiser will be on the right side of the road, just past the onramp (Where it is pitch black) with his lights off tagging people with Ka band radar. The speed limit is a measly 50 (adjustable speed limit signs suck) despite the fact that there is NO traffic besides truckers at this time of night (2-4am), and most people will blow through this section at 80-85. Stay off the gas until you have passed altamonte (exit 92) and you should be ok.
Aloma Avenue near St. Andrews Boulevard
It seems that every street in this town has a cop working over speeders. The town is small but the whole place is a speed trap, and the cops always show up in court. I am really starting to hate these guys.
