I-75 south bound
Byron City police patrol the South side of I-75 from just below Crawford Cty til past exit 144-Russell Pkwy at all times of the day and night. They also illegally park backed up in one special spot-usually 2 cruisers day and night. Their ticket prices start at $195.00 so be careful. It is ALL about revenue

If you are in Byron, you are in a speed trap. Or cor that matter any kind of trap. I got pulled over for not turning on my turn signal soon enough. As far as speeding goes, I try to go just under the speed limit just in case. There is a GSP, State Trooper, City Police, and Sherifs department all on he same block right off HWY 49 between Main ST and White RD. They like to sit in Fred’s and Freashway parking lots. They are als fond of the Post office entrance and the street that runs next to the motorcycle dealership just before you leave city limits westbound on 49. Another popular place is on Dunbar Rd. in the curve where the tire destribters is located. (next to the interstate) Also at the end of the on ramp southbound 75.

Police car sits in the sunken median hidden by bushes facing south as you travel downhill northward. I live in FL and never had a speeding ticket before in 11 years living here. I was warned that Georgia Police is out to get Floridians. I found out the hard way that it is true.
Interstate 75 near Exit Number North of 146
Not a classic trap. However, Byron PD will set up their units on I-75 south of the (one) Byron exit. This is a flat, open stretch of road with a 70 mph speed limit (like the rest of I-75). However, there is absolutely no reason why Byron PD should be enforcing speed limits on a Federal interstate in an area for which southbound traffic cannot exit into the city proper. This is just a way to get city revenue.
State Highway 49 near Inside City Limits
Watch yourself inside the city limits. Tickets have been given for as little as 5 miles over the speed limit. This town has been doing this for years.
