Canton, Georgia Speed Traps
1283 E Main St Canton Ga 30114
There is a camera speed trap as you leave downtown Canton heading E/B its supposed to be 25 in school zone, but there is no school on this road. There are schools that are down a little side road but no school in sight as you pass through the area. Normal speed limit is 35 mph, they are ticketing at 11 mph over the speed limit of 25mph. The only notice I guess is a flashing yellow light, but I didn’t even see the flashing yellow light.
west of Canton on Hwy 20
Leaving Canton followed by police cruiser, I stayed within speed limit of 25 MPH and when I saw the 45 MPH speed limit sign upon entering a 4 lane highway I increased my speed and was issued a speeding violation for 36 MPH. I had the 45 MPH sign in my sight but was clocked for speeding at 36 MPH.
I575 Canton/Roswell Exit -going toward Roswell
As you come up the hill an officer is hidden backed in a business just past the apartments on right and standing out in front of the car with his radar gun. Car isn’t in view from road until you are upon it.
Lower Bethany Road and Towne Mill AV.
The Cherokee County revenue collectors sit at the entrance to Towne Mill subdivision. This is at the bottom of a steep hill in both directions. Laser as well as K band radar is used. 45mph speed limit but due to the downhill it is easy to get up to 50-55mph with no acceleration at all. Be careful and wear you brakes out going both directions on Lower Bethany.
Hwy 20 between East Cherokee Drive and Hwy 372
They police at various locations, especially AT&T the slight curve going up the hill towards Krogers.
