Everywhere. Do not speed and don’t run the red light cameras

Emerson, GeorgiaMar 06, 20250 Comments

Emerson has at least 8 squad cars and use them for revenue enhancement. They seem to concentrate on both ends of I-75, but also beware of the short 35 MPH stretch on Highway 293 and the 45 MPH construction zone on U.S. Highway 41.
Emerson has graciously installed red light cameras on at least 2 intersections. One of these is on highway 293 near the I-75 interchange. They have purposely neglected to install vehicle sensors at these intersections to properly trigger the signal lights. I won’t do any business in Emerson, and neither should you.

I-75

Emerson PD sometimes patrol the interstate. This is the only city to do this for 50 miles. I drive to Marietta from Adairsville; Adairsville PD, Cartersville PD , Acworth PD , Kennesaw PD, Marietta PD do not patrol the interstate. That is the job of the Ga Highway Patrol.

Just south of bypass bridge at red top mountain exit to 75

They sit on hwy 41 on a dirt road just south of the bridge that connects the red top exit off of 75 with hwy 61. Can only be seen if headed south after you pass under the bridge and not at all if your headed north( unless your looking in the rear view)

Have had people come by my shop and ask if thier window tint was legal after being ticketed. One lady from tn in a Lexus had factory tint

Old Alabama Road

Driving east from the Cartersville airport you crest a hill and suddenly your 45 MPH speed limit in the county patrolled section of the road drops to 25 as you enter the "city." Look for trouble around the school near the bottom of the hill. And as you follow Old Alabama through the town be sure to make a complete stop at both of the 4-way stops. They are waiting for an excuse to let you help with the "city" budget.
