Entire City Street near Entire City Street
The city of Griffin, GA has recently instituted a "performance goal" of 20 citations per day, per officer in their traffic unit. The story was released by WSB-TV in Atlanta, with a copy of a memo written by their traffic unit lieutenant. The memo says clearly each officer is expected to issue 20 citations per day, though the PR rep from the department says its "not a quota" yea…right!
State Highway 92 near Henry Jackson Road
Traveling from Fayetteville to Griffin (East) on Hwy 92 the speed limit is 55 mph. As you are entering Griffin, Hwy 92 changes from 2 lanes to 4 lanes and the speed limit drops to 45 mph. Approximately 1/2 mile after the speed limits drops the Georgia State Patrol sits in the Living Waters Church parking lot on the right catching motorists as they top the hill. Enforcement is heavy on Friday and weekends.
US Highway 19/41 near State Highway 16
Northbound on US 19/41, immediately beyond the on-ramp from Ga. Highway 16, the City of Griffin cop will often lurk on a now well-worn shoulder, at the base of a long hill. He is easy to see, but since you have just left a curve, is too close for you to reduce your speed. 55 mph is fine, more will result in a ticket.
US Highway 92 near Henry Jackson Road
Going east on Hwy 92 from Fayettville, as you near Griffin Hwy 92 changes from two lanes to four and the speed limit changes from 55 to 45. Just as you top the hill the state patrol sit in the parking lot of the Living Waters church on the right. Distance to the speed trap is about 1/2 mile after it changes to four lanes.
19-41 Expressway near Ellis Rd. Overpass
When you go are going north on 19-41 the speed limit is mostly 55 but just before you get to the Ellis Rd. overpass it changes to 45 and cops like to sit up the road a little ways and get the ones who dont slow down or miss the sign, and others who just miss is… It Is Easy To Miss!
