Port Wentworth, Georgia Speed Traps
Port Wentworth PD SR 25/GA 25 new Houlihan Bridge
Port Wentworth PD parked on SR 25 i.e. GA 25 between Savannah and Middle rivers sitting within the emergency shoulder west of the new Houlihan Bridge parked facing in total darkness oncoming traffic into Georgia from South Carolina.
North Coastal Hwy. State line
The Portwentworth Police love this little strip of Hwy. The speed limit coming out of South Carolina into Georgia is 55mph and drops to 35mph in about a mile. The Hwy. is two lanes, very narrow, and has an enormous amount of road signs that I believe are there to distract the driver so they will miss the decreasing speed limit signs. There are narrow bridges and a lot scenery to take in during this final decent into Georgia. Beware the officers love to hide near the bridge at the boat landing and are very hard to see. I got popped for 61mph in a 35mph zone. Keep in mind the GA super speeder law and the Port Wentworth police do not give warning…. they meet quotas.
Driving on hwy 25 from the SC state line
After you cross the drawbridge into Georgia, speed limit drops from 55 to 35, they hide on the curve by Weyerhaeuser Papermill. They sit tucked in next to the trees on the left….like most small towns its one of their biggest sources of revenue.
Interstate 95 near US Highway 21
Portwentworth is a small town and in a 1 mile stretch yesterday between the Airport road and Hwy 21 I counted 3 patrol cars yesterday. I guess PW has no other crime.
Bonney Bridge Road near HWY 25 Crossing
Officers were clocking @ the end of Bonneybridge. They had the patrol car parked on the side road and were standing on the side of Bonneybridge clocking people illegally. We contacted the chief and one of the councilmen for the city and told them that what they were doing was illegal. Please visit our site @ http://stickit2clickit.org
