Mountain Home, Idaho Speed Traps

The speed limit drops rapidly in increments from 65 to 25. As you enter Mountain Home the police are frequently sitting just in the city limits waiting for drivers who haven’t slowed down fast enough. It is a congested area so slow speed is a good idea. Also be cautious as you come down the mountain towards Mountain Home on US 20. It is a long fairly straight downhill stretch and it is easy to get going over the limit. I have seen a trap set up with at least ten cars pulled over. This area is a trap, the speed isn’t an issue as the road is long and straight with good visibility.
