Berkeley, Illinois Speed Traps
St. Charles Rd. east of Wolf Rd
The police sit on the south side of St. Charles Rd or down one of the 4 side streets east of Wolf. They are there almost every morning. When they park on St. Charles they fit in with all the regular cars that are parked along the street so you don’t see them until it’s too late.
St. Charles Road
I go by this road everyday. Both Bellwood and Berkeley cops sit around on all day but they’re out full force after 6pm. This stretch is all the way from about 47th street in Bellwood to All the way to Taft ave. and Eisenhower 290 expressway. If it wasn’t for my Passport Escort radar I would be getting pulled over all the time. Speed limit is 35mph so be careful out there. These guys are strict at night!
Eastbound St. Charles Rd between I-290 and Taft Ave.
Upon exiting I-290 onto eastbound St. Charles road, you will find yourself immediately in the Berkeley Police’s radar beam on a four-lane road with a 30 mph speed limit. The road looks like it should have a speed limit of 40 and, after driving 55 on the interstate, 30 really feels like a crawl. This one’s a killer!
