Chicago, Illinois Speed Traps
West Irving Park Road near North Narragansett Avenue
I don’t know why anyone didn’t post this intersection. It’s clear as day. But yet some motorists must seem to forget that these sidewalk cameras that are on poles give you a Kodak moment you’ll never forget. Keep it under 30MPH when going through the green. And Do Not try to eat a yellow or you’ll be seeing red. The cameras sit next to the westbound bus stop on Irving Park and on the northbound bus stop of Narragansett Ave. The flash is an embarrassing one. It will take about 2-3 shots in barely a second, getting you from the front, side, and rear. So use extra caution. Otherwise get your money’s worth on a $90 pose.
State Highway 41 near Buckley Road
North bound on Hwy 41, about 1 mile from IL route 137. The speed limit drops from 55 mph to 45 mph. They shot you right at the 45 mph mark.
Diversey Avenue near California Avenue
There is a camera for red lights on the westbound Diversey and the southbound or northbound California traffic. Not sure if the camera grabs the eastbound Diversey traffic for people looking to make the light and get on the expressway.
Naragansett Avenue near Foster Avenue
There is a camera on the southbound traffic for red lights. FYI the camera only goes off if you are passing over the sensors Before the intersection when the light goes red. I’ve seen information in a previous post that someone’s back end was in the intersection and the camera went off and that is false(unless someone made a late left turn while they went through the yellow/red).
Milwaukee Avenue near Elston Avenue
Traffic heading southeast as it passes the McDonalds at Elston is patrolled every morning. In the last month I have seen someone pulled over almost every morning. Have seen some afternoon coverage but I don’t pass by at that time of day enough to say for sure.
