Downers Grove, Illinois Speed Traps

Heading south on Woodward from 63rd running radar from strip mall parking on west side of woodward. 4 lanes and easy to go over 35mph. see cars pulled over at least once / week.

On route 83 a cop will sit in the ditch going northbound between the ogden avenue entrance and interstate 88. This is a particularly tricky speed trap because the area is very dark and the car cannot be seen until it is very very close. Be careful!

Between Finley and Yorktown Mall there is a cop that sits in the median under the bridge, they usually radar going westbound but occasionally eastbound. This speedtrap usually will happen around 9-11 pm during the week. If you have a radar detector pay extra attention to this area because most radar detectors will receive interference from best buy and other shopping centers nearby.

Downers South gets out of school at 2:30 and 3:20, this cop is there almost every day waiting for people to come over the hill doing 35 on Dunham’s 25, in the summer, cops still patrol Dunham’s long stretch even when school is out and the speed limit should be upped to 30 or 35. Oh, and they can catch you even when they are driving on the opposite side of the road.

Cops like to sit in the entrances of Zero Gravity/Blur night club (usually at the entrance on Rt. 53)….I see them there at all different hours of the day/night, they have never gotten me but I have seen them get quite a few people.
