Gages Lake Road near Hunt Club Road

Gurnee, IllinoisMar 21, 20070 Comments

This is a favorite spot for Gurnee police! Halfway between Hunt Club Road and Milwaukee Avenue, they sit in the driveway of a church across from Heather Ridge subdivision. There’s an old barn and farmhouse on the property. You don’t notice the cop car is there til it’s too late. Speed is 40mph along Gages Lake Road, and strictly enforced.

Stearns School Road near Mill Creek Crossing

It is easy to get carried away on this stretch of road. I often see a squad waiting of Mill Creek road behind the trees waiting, also right down the street in between woods.

State Highway 41 near Washington Street

The cop is usually parked in the parking lot of the business (lumber yard?) located on the east side of the highway north of Washington and south of Delaney Rd. The speed limit is reduced from 55 MPH to a ridiculous 45 MPH on this stretch of a divided 4-lane state highway. Other times I’ve seen the cruiser parked alongside the road at the same location. Nobody drives below 55, because if they did, they’d be run over by all the trucks that use Rt 41 to avoid I-94 tollway. The cop usually picks the fastest car in the bunch, so stay in the slow lane and watch out.

Dilleys Road near Stearns School Road

Gurnee, IllinoisApr 17, 20060 Comments

They often sit in the church parking lot north of Stearns School Road and in the new subdivision North of That. They also like to sit near the water tower between Grand Ave. and Stearns School Road on Dilleys. Be careful being that many are taking this detour due to the construction on the Wadworth Road/294 bridge.

There is a church at the Hunt Club Rd. and Gages Lake Rd. intersection. Cop likes to sit in the church parking lot at night.
