Hinckley, Illinois Speed Traps
Rt 30 east of Somonauk Rd (Hinckley Elementary School)
20 mph school zone. School district gets $50 for each ticket issued. Cop will hang around after children have cleared the area. Attorney says he frequently sees tickets from this location. I was ticketed for 30 mph with no children in sight. You must appear in court in Sycamore IL and pay a $200 fine ($150 to the county + $50 to the school district).
North of Town on Hinckley Rd.
The Police sit on a side street and monitor traffic coming from the North. The speed drops to 35 MPH outside of the residential district. They will write a ticket on anyone going 40 MPH or more.
US Highway 30
Police sit on south side of of Hwy 30 just before entering the town. They get traffic going both directions
State Route 30 near Pritchard Road
Coming from the east into Hinckley, the speed limit was reduced for another mile outside of town coming into town. Since lots of people don’t realize this yet, boom they got you.
US Highway 30 near Somonauk Road
Coming from the west into Hinckley on Rt. 30, the speed drops from 55 to 40 before even getting into town, then to 35. Hinckley cops love this.
