Lake Villa, Illinois Speed Traps

Cop sits on the West Side of the street on a yellow three wheel girly-man motor bike. Radar gun pre-set at $141.00. Avoid this entire town. For it’s size it must issue more tickets than any other. Out of state plates will be ticketed regardless of their true speed.

Headed east on Grass Lake Rd. speed limit is 45-enter the reduced school speed limit 20mph-he will be in the opening of the school drive (gate usually locked) He can clock you from the first school sign to his position approx1/4 mile in an unmarked squad-you will only see the kids at the bend in the road,it breaks left ( the third sign ) the one that will tell you when kids are present during school days. The kids are totally obscured from view until you start to turn that bend. That’s too late – you’re dead. High fine – reduced speed zone.

I got a ticket here. Limit is around 35, but it is easy to do 50 here. CAREFUL!

I have seen them sit in that empty gravel lot across the re-modeled bar on Deep Lake Rd. People speed on this road all the time. Be sure you are going 40. It’s usually sitting after the Crooked Lake Subdivision going towards Grass Lake Rd.

Very heavy patrol of State Police,hide in driveways or side roads, giving tickets all the time. Its 40MPH and very easy to speed going between 59 and 83.
Just this morning on my way out at 7:45am they got someone going west.On my way home within an hour they ticketed someone going east.Its not the local but State that are there.
