Lindenhurst, Illinois Speed Traps
Rosewood Crossing Road near Sand Lake Road
Police usually sitting the first street on the left once you enter the CountryPlace (south) subdivision.
There is a road (Rosewood Crossing)that winds between the 2 small lakes that has a speed limit of 20mph; most ppl travel well over the limit since they are in a hurry to get to/from work.
I’ve seen alot of ppl getting pulled over early in the am (630-830) as well as in the early evening (430-630).
Hard to see them hiding; lots of trees and bushes in subdivision.
Even saw a car pulled over for not stopping while a school bus was loading kids (the flashing ‘stop’ arm was extended.
State Route 132 near Sand Lake Road
While driving West on Rt. 132 (Grand Ave) towards McDonalds and downtown Lindenhurst, there is usually a cop on E. Grand Circle, the street right before Deerpath Drive. There is no street lamp on the corner of Grand Circle and Grand so if anything, you can see the reflectors of the car but that’s it. Also, if you’re driving East on Grand (towards Rt. 45 and Gurnee), they get you going around that turn. The speed limit is 40mph there but once you go about 600 yards, it turns to 45mph. Make sure you stay at 40mph until you reach that sign.
Deep Lake Road near State Highway 132
It will be a Lindenhurst or Lake Villa Squad car sitting in the BP lot. They watch for speeders coming from Grand Ave. (State Highway 132). They will also sit acrossed the street in the driveway for the Library or even the retirement home just east of the library entrance off of 132
Grand Avenue near Sand Lake Road
Up and down this strip of Grand Avenue, Route 132 passingthrough Lindenhurst the cops are hiding everywhere. If caught, they will usually write you more than one ticket and lie like crazy. For example, adding 2mph over even what the radar says just to get the extra bump in the fine. They will even write you an extra ticket for illegal lane usage (which is bogus because Grand Ave is only a two lane street!), just to give you one more ticket to fight. They profile out-of-towners as well. In court its funny. They show up in perfectly pressed slacks and uniform! They look great! Its doubtful that then ever really work much!
Rt. 132 and Rt. 45
They scour Rt. 132 (Grand Ave.) and Rt.45 constantly. Lindenhurst police are notorious for racial profiling. Also, they never give out one ticket. If pulled over for speeding, expect at least one more ticket to come your way. Check them on their mph sign knowledge. A lot of times they are wrong. Even if 2 miles over the speed limit, you will be pulled over.
