Skokie, Illinois Speed Traps
Golf Road at the Edens Expressway
Golf Road is 45 mph until just west the Edens Expressway bridge, when it goes down abruptly to 35. A patrol car is often situated at the first side street intersection east of the bridge, but west of the railroad crossing. If you’re coming out of the 45 mph zone doing 50, you won’t see him in time.
Eastbound or Westbound lanes of Golf Road, 1/4 mile east of GrossPoint Road
A village of Skokie squad car, sits off to the side of the road, in a very dark spot, facing either east on Golf road, for westbound traffic and sometimes also sits facing west for eastbound traffic, with his rader pointed directly towards you, not knowing until you are in his proximity. Be aware this same officer tends to be there roughly from 9:45pm to 11:30pm. But especially from 10:00pm to 10:45pm.
Oakton St.
The whole length of Oakton through Skokie except the downtown area. Police are parked or on side streets and also driving (will pull over cars in oncoming lanes). There is usually 2 in the morning and 1 in the evening. The most enforced area is between Crawford and McCormack, where the speed limit is 30 on a 4 lane road through an industrial area.
3700 Church Street
Squad Car will park northbound at on Dr. Korczak Ter, at corner of Church, and point hand-held or window mounted radar west to monitor eastbound Church Street Traffic.
Keller and Demspter and Dempter near Golf Club
Skokie has a street called Keller which they ENFORCE now! Going 10 miles over is not OK. I recieved a totally B.S. ticket for 35 in a 25. This is totally ridiculous, especailly since house robberies have gone up. They can’t protect my home, but have time for this. By the way, since every other driver is going ten miles over. I’m sure is VERY dangerous to go slower than the flow of traffic. Can you say R-O-A-D R-A-G-E
