Wasco, Illinois Speed Traps
Rt. 64, 1/2 mile east of Brown Road
A real honest to god speed trap. Wasco is actually part of Campton Hills. The local police hide behind the barn as you enter the Wasco area heading eastbound on Rt 64. Speed drops from 55 to 35. Yes, they really do hide behind the barn! They sit there daily. They also sit at the other end of Wasco hiding behind the Old General Store". This activity really needs to be photographed. This is real OLD SCHOOL speed traps from the 50’s."
Bridle Creek Dr & Lafox Rd
Another Campton Hills speed trap (Wasco is now part of Campton Hills). Speed limit is 45 but the road is winding and hilly in this area. They love to catch people coming down the hill. During the afternoon rush hour and weekends. They hide on the side streets and they are difficult to spot.
Burlington Rd & Bolcum Rd
There is a stop sign at Bolcum and Burlington. The Local Campton Hills police (formerly Wasco) sit on a dead end side street before this stop sign. You cannot see them. They give out Rolling Stop" tickets by he dozens. Even if you are barely moving. Daytime and afternoon rush hour is there favorite times. They will tell you they get a lot of complaints. But there are no close by houses in the area."
