Wheeling, Illinois Speed Traps

This stretch seems to be patrolled very heavily. Sometimes you’ll see squad cars across the street from the RAM just waiting to catch speeders as they cross into Lake County. Watch your speed especially during the early a.m. hours as they are on the lookout for easy targets.

Ever since IF Gallery closed, their parking lot (next to Aldi) is a popular place for Wheeling police to hide facing East behind trees and those cars travelling east on Dundee are likely to be nabbed. I see them there about ever 2-3 days at various times of day but especially at night.

Wheeling Road changes fronm 40 mph to 30 between Hintz and Dundee. There are often police cars tucked into a driveway south of the curve, either side, catching those who speed.

Cops like to sit by the Walmart and catch drivers driving across the street from 83 and the side street near Lou Malnati’s Pizza.
