Wheeling, Illinois Speed Traps
Dundee Rd between Wolf and Northgate Prkwy
There are always cops standing clocking people right in front of the City Hall and police department. One would think that people would have enough common sense NOT to speed right in front of a police department, but I do see people pulled over every once in a while.
Wolf Road between Milwaukee and Dundee
On that particular section of Wolf Road, there are many good hiding spots for Wheeling cops. If going southbound, right after the S-curve before Strong Ave., there’s a driveway on the left side. A cop cometimes sits there with all light turned off and clocks motorists right when they pass, so radar detectors aren’t of any help. I got lucky and spotted him and slowed down immediately. Also, if going southbound, right past Strong Ave., on the left side right before the Mexican plaza theres a small parking lot. Cops are often standing there clocking motorists, and are hard to spot untill its too late.
Hintz Rd. between Buffalo Grove Rd. and Shoenbeck
Across the street from Lakeside Villas theres a house with a tall wooden fence by it adjacent to the road. Wheeling police often stands behind the fence and clocks westbound traffic. You can’t see the cop until its too late.
Milwaukee Ave (Going North) before Hintz
Police like to sit in the forest preserves parking lot on the east side of the street clocking people going north.
