motor cop traps at the primrose preschool lot- SCHOOL SPEED ZONE
126th, west of the I69 bridge
Speed limit drops from 40 to 35 after crossing the bridge going west. Cop sits in self storage parking lot. I know this because I got a ticket for 41mph….
I 69 in both directions
ISP and Fishers PD love this spot. They sit in the median and look for antsy drivers anticipating the north bound speed increasing from 65 to 70. Also looking for southbound traffic not decreasing their speed from 70+ to the 65mph speed. As of July 2009 south of about mile 6 the speed limit is down to 55 due to construction, so be careful.
In the Hamilton Southeastern school zone
This is a 1 mile school zone, posted for 30mph during school hours. Police take liberties on what is considered school hours.
River Ridge Dr & E 116th St
Traps are commonly set up here on the north side of 116th in the entrance to the subdivision. I’ve seen more traps here in morning rush hour than in the evening. Have seen marked and unmarked units; typically they are in Dodge Chargers. This is close to the speed limit change from 35 to 40 when traveling westbound. Drivers here tend to accelerate before the 40 mph sign, and that’s what the cruisers are counting on. And of course going east bound, the cruisers are looking for people who miss the change from 40 to 35. The normal flow of traffic thru this stretch does tend to be 6 to 9 mph above the limit (35). If you actually drive 35, you’ll get ‘run over’.
