Gary, Indiana Speed Traps
West 28th Pl On Clark Road
Between 2 or 3 times out of a week in the morning there will be a police car in the church parking lot camping behind 4 buses waiting to pull you over.
Ridge Road between Grant & Cleveland Street
Both Gary Police & Lake County Sheriff Police units in tandem and/or separately will often hide in the parking lot of the Goodwill Thrift Store to snag drivers going either east or west down Ridge Rd. I take this route several days a week to pick up my daughter in the evening & most days I see 2-4 police cars in the lot often behind a car they pulled over. Drive safely!
I-65 NB north of the I-80/94 interchange
State police like to sit near the end of the on-ramp from 80/94 to NB I-65. They are just over the crest of a hill, and the wall hides them until it’s too late for you. They also sit a little farther north, in the median, at the end of a long curving bridge. The problem is, most traffic (doing 65-70 mph) exits at 80/94, and you are suddenly pretty much alone maintaining that speed, where the limit is 55. They actually seem set up to nail people heading into Gary, the only exit other than Gary (where 65 ends) is for the Toll Road.
Indiana University Northwest
This school is highly secured. The school and surrounding areas are covered in cops, IU cops, Gary cops, lake county cops, and state troupers are all over here surrounding all sides of the school, so be careful whenever you are in the vicinity of the school.
I-90 eastbound milemarker 17.1 thru 17.8
About two miles past constrct., from abt. 2:30p to 6p, hugged tight to center midian, 95% of time an IN ST. cruiser is near invisable. Locals are aware and slow down, watch for brakelights as you approach curve!!!
The state has a major revenue source going here!
