Indianapolis, Indiana Speed Traps
US 70- Between Mt. Comfort & Post Rd
Beware of the sheriff clocking you on the overpass at Mt. Comfort (near GreenField/New Pal) He radios his buddies who are on 70 waiting for you. Work in teams of three! Also, when coming up on Post, there is generally a police car at the U-turn area clocking people–as the speed changes from 70 to 55.
10th Street between Cumberland Road & Mitthoeffer Road
Bored Cumberland Police Officers typically set with radar on side streets and watch traffic on 10th Street which has a 35 MPH speed limit, and a School zone and a Fire Station. They ticket for seat belts and speeding and any other thing they can. Say anything and it gets worse. In fact you’re at risk anytime you drive in the Town of Cumberland.
38th St between High School Rd and Moller Rd
School Zone with posted 25mph between 7am-4:30pm. Patrolled frequently.
I-465 E & W between Harding St and Mann Rd
ISP parks along Westbound 465 center divider just past the rise of Harding St overpass, then again about 1 mile west.
ISP parks along Eastbound 465 center divider between Mann Rd on-ramp and White River bridge.
79th street just East of Georgetown road
The officer will park his car on a side street on the north side of the road. Then he stands behind the telephone pole with a hand held radar gun. There is a school here but the sign for the school zone is about 100 yards before the school and before you actually see the school. He pulls you over and you get a ticket for a school zone. Also note the speed limit doesn’t go back up until waaaay past the school.
