Kokomo, Indiana Speed Traps
Goyer Street near Mohr Street
Cops like to sit in the entrance to Cedar Crest and catch speeders going both north and south on Goyer. Most of the time it is a cop on a bike, but sometimes a dummy vehicle will be posted there.
Washington Street near Morgan Street
On Washington St just south of Morgan and just north of North Street. The police like to sit in an alley way which lies between Davis Rd and Washington. I have seen them in the morning, which when you are heading south on Washington the view of the police car is blocked by Martinos. I have also seen them at night in the same spot.
Center Road near State Route just west of SR 19
Sheriff parks on the side streets in Center and watches Center Road, heading toward Taylor High School. I have been stopped and ticketed for going 35 in a 30. They jump on you before you even have a chance to see them and the speed limit drops from 45 to 30 in an unreasonably short distance. You can see people slam on their brakes when they see the 30 MPH sign while the 45 MPH sign was just there. That, in itself could be a traffic hazard.
US Highway US 31 near US Highway US 26, US 28, US 32, US 38,
They are all over the place there. They drive unmarked SUVs and what looks like a black unmarked Camaro sports car. They cruise up and down this strip of 31, trolling back and forth like sharks stalking their prey. I have seen them pull a fast U-y to snag someone speeding in the opposite direction and I have been stopped going 60 in a 55. (In their defense, they did recently up the speed limit from 55 to 60. Of course, this was AFTER I paid my stupid speeding ticket and got my insurance jacked!)
Webster & Center Rd.
In Jackson Morrow Park, about 100 yards north of where Webster Road meets Center Road. Either one or 2 cops sit and nail you if you exceed the 20 mph speed limit.
