Lapaz, Indiana Speed Traps

The town pops up out of nowhere with an almost instant 20 MPH reduction in the speed limit. Lakeville and LaPaz are only a couple of miles apart and neither ones patrolling force is big on warning tickets. Lakeville has it’s own fine collection program. The benefit is that the ticket will not be reported if the fine is paid at the Lakeville Town Hall before an approximate 2 week period after the ticket is issued. If it is not paid in that period it goes to court like any other ticket.

State police enforcement is very present on US31 all the way from US 30 to US 20. The marshalls in the two small towns also take the speed limit very seriously. I have traveled this road twice a day at variuos times of day and almost always see someone pulled over. Be careful.
