Michigan City, Indiana Speed Traps

There is usually a cop car parked in the entrance drive to Tryon Farm Housing Community, it is across the street from Niemann School. He is hard to see until you get right up on him and then it’s too late!

Ok, They always sit in "Barker School lot" "Loundry cleaning place on 421 down town" You can get away with most speeding in MC..I mean, be save..but 30 MPH on 421..come on…everyone goes 40…but slow down before you cross a intersection…and ALWAYS KEEP A EYE on the thigs around you..It always works for me! I’v got one ticket…and it had NEVER been in Michigan City…and the one I got I’m fighting because I was doing nothing more then keeping up with the cars around me on 30 in Columbia City, Indiana.

There is usually a police car in the parking lot of the Acme Lodge between 4 and 6 pm. Or he will be hiding in in the tall grass between the high school entrance and the baseball field entrance.

Police cars hiding in areas on the side of the cross streets and using radar to check the speed of cars turning from the highways (55 mph speed limit) on to major cross streets (30 Mph and below speed limit) Cross streets are typically unpopulated. In my case after issuing a ticket, the officer drove over 100 yards in reverse down the road to return to the speed trap area.
