Cedar Rapids, Iowa Speed Traps

Received the citation Dec 28th, 2015. On my way home from Minneapolis for Thanksgiving with my family. On November 28, 2015 I was clocked at75mph in a 60 zone. I was driving with the flow of traffic when I received the citation. It is definetly a speed trap.

We just received a citation for speeding in this area. We are out of state residents with clean driving records too. We were shocked to receive this citation. I understand city officials were asked to take down these because they were in violation and yet drivers are still being cited. There is also a class action lawsuit in process too that we may join. It isn’t fair. I believe this area for cameras is not for safety. It is for money. Drivers beware.

I am another one added to the list of getting caught in this trap. I am very conscientious on my wearabouts and how fast I was going. I tried following the signs and slowing down as fast as I could safely. I am now on my way to get a money order of 75$ for apparently going 15 over.

WAY too close to the speed reduction sign. I was nailed here while using cruise control and did not reset it fast enough! They set the fine low enough to just pay it and not contest but this location IS A SPEED TRAP!

I rented a vehicle from the Cedar Rapids airport and was on my way to return it and fly out of Iowa, back home. I was traveling for business and always use cruise control in company rentals for this exact reason. I received a charge on my credit card two days ago form the rental agency and called to find our that I was charged $75 + a $13 administration fee for going…..you guessed it, 67 in a 55. ?
