Davenport, Iowa Speed Traps
2700 – 2900 Block of Jersey Ridge
On mornings of most school days, the City of Davenport sets up a mobile speed camera at the corner of either E. 28th or E. 29th and Jersey Ridge, across from Eisenhower School. They enforce the 25 mph school zone rigidly (as they should). But people coming down the hill from the south on Jersey Ridge are usually upon the school zone so quickly that they’re easily doing 15 over and the cop takes their picture.
Harrison St South of Locust
Right near Davenport Central High and at the Gyro Shop, I’ve seen marked police cars in the parking lot as you go down the hill going toward downtown Davenport. One Friday afternoon, there were numerous unmarked police cars stopping cars for going over the limit (must have been over 15 cars pulled over).
The speed limit goes from 35mph down to 30 mph as you go down the hill, so remember to hit the brakes going down hill. Also right next to the police station into downtown, its 25mph, so really try to slow. Hope this helps.
2100 block of West 3rd St. near Pine St.
3rd Street is an East-bound one way and the camera is on the south side of the street pointing toward Pine St.
Jersey Ridge between Kimberly and 46th St.
Normally set up a temporary speed camera – marked vehicle. Sit on East side in either Windsor Crest drive or private cul de sac south of Windsor Crest and track traffic driving towards Kimberly
