Davenport, Iowa Speed Traps
I-80 near U.S. Hwy. 61 Interchange
Traveling westbound on I-80, I passed two or three Davenport Police units which had five cars pulled over at one time. There was likely an officer clocking traffic from an overpass. This was a major operation run by city cops (not state troopers). Beware of the 65 mph zone from the Mississippi River through Davenport. This was the worst speed trap I saw on a trip from Chicago to Denver.
E. Kimberly Rd. & Elmore Ave.
Red Light & Speed camera in all directions.
On N. Division St. Between W. 34th St. & W. 29th St.
Automated Speed & Red Light Camera. 35MPH. Signs are posted. This only applies to cars going South on Division. This monitors a bike path crossing with traffic lights to stop cars when bikers want to cross Division. A school zone follows this speed trap that has a 25MPH limit. The school zone has two schools across from each other so I recommend you comply in either directions. Way too many kids running around and crossing the street.
River Drive
Unmarked white Chevrolet Astro Police Van, outfitted with radar and laser aimed out the back window. Parks on the grass next to railroad trestle 1 block away from East Village.
Interstate 80 near John Deere Training Center
Frequently during the am and pm commute, there is a state trooper sitting in the concrete median right in front of the John Deere training center on I-80 between Hwy 61 and I-74. He’s usually sitting on the west bound side ready to pounce on both east or west bound traffic. Beware!
