Kansas City, Kansas Speed Traps
Holliday Drive near Lake Quivira
On Holliday Drive right in front of the Lake Quivira entrance the speed limit is 25 MPH, which is ridiculous. Everywhere else, after 100 ft, is 35 to 40 MPH. There is ALWAYS a cop sitting right in front of the mailbox or at the gas station taking radar. My friend got ticketed there doing 27. Ride the break there!
W.39th Street near Cambridge Avenue
The KU Medical Center Police routinely runs speed traps on W.39th Street between State line Rd and Rainbow Blvd. It doesnt matter what time of day or night it is, usually an officer will sit between the Dykes Medical Library and the animal research building and will monitor east and westbound traffic. Speed limit is 20 mph because of the pedestrian crossing.
Mission Road near W.43rd Avenue
Kansas City, KS PD runs speed traps on Mission Rd between 43rd ave and Souhwest Blvd, between 10 am and 1 pm each day. The officer usually runs radar on traffic going Northbound on Mission Rd due to the large hill. Speed limit at this location is 30 mph, be aware.
69S to Metcalf After I-635S
As 635 becomes 69s, the road goes down a hill. At the bottom of this hill, a road crosses the highway. Frequently, there will be a cruiser sitting at the intersection on your right.
