Wichita, Kansas Speed Traps
East Central at Goebel
two officers using radar guns, standing at intersection facing westbound traffic just past curves… This is a common speed trap, used a lot by officers weekdays in the morning AND afternoons.
Central Ave. between Webb Rd. and Grenwich Rd.
Wichita police set up a radar trap at the north corner of Goebel St. and Central Ave. citing west bound drivers on Central. The speed limit on this short section of Central is 35 MPH while west of Webb and east of Grenwich the limit is 40 MPH. Often worked by two police cruisers!
K-15 south of Pawnee street
Multiple police on both Cycles and in cars pulling over lots of speeders.
Kellogg on-ramp westbound from Woodlawn
Officers like to sit on the side if the westbound Kellogg on-ramp coming off of Woodlawn and run radar completely out of sight of highway traffic. The officer will seem to come out of nowhere when they pull you over.
21st street between Woodlawn and Oliver, east
This trap is very frequently active in the afternoons and during the work rush hour. The cops are on a side street (Willow lane) or perhaps a block further east. People are very good about warning approaching traffic by flashing their headlights so beware if someone flashes you in this area, I believe the speed limit here is 35 mph.
