Richmond, Kentucky Speed Traps
Interstate 75 near Exit Number 87
Officers sets in the median of the interstate south of the overpass or approximately one mile south in the median of the interstate.
Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 87-86
The officers can be found at this location most times of the day and are pretty fair about the speeds.
Interstate 75
KVE/KSP patrol vehicles are prevalent in this area – esp. late at night. While traveling recently in this area (really all the way from the TN/KY border on I-75N) there were patrol vehicles (mainly crown vics?) at many of the access roads/emergency "turn arounds." None of the vehicles had their lights on, impossible to see until you were right on them.
South Keeneland Drive near Lexington Road
South Keeneland Dr has churches, schools and a lot of kids on the sidewalks and because of this is a 25 mph zone. There are a lot of places for the Richmond police to hide. I have witnessed as many as 4 cars being pulled over within one hour on this street!
Interstate 75 near Mile Marker 85
this trap goes along with the one near exit 87, thus making 3 spots that KSP or RPD sit near this exit. the end of the wall at MM 85 is also a favorite spot for KSP troopers to sit and wait, northbound the trooper can not be seen for the fact that the northbound lanes are higher than the southbound side. this one is in a dip so you will gain some speed before passing where the trooper sits.
