Baton Rouge, Louisiana Speed Traps
Burbank Dr between Jennifer Jean and Nicholson
Many LSU students drive this path in the morning to the Stadium Parking lots. There are several police officers that live in the strip of complex where the street makes a curve. They get up early and pull over anyone speeding. They usually are in groups of 3 or 4 officers on motorcycles, which makes it very easy for them to pull over more than one person at a time. So, slow down in this area, they give out lots of tickets and yes, the officers DO show up for the court date.
Interstate 110, from airport to north to Hiway 61
Local Baton Rouge police and Sherrifs Dept patrol both directions from about 9 AM till 8 PM, weekends are worse. Will allow about 5 mph above the posted 60 mph.
Between Lafayette and Baton Rouge on Bridge
Going east slow down after second exit on bridge. Tropers are usally setting on the right hand side after fishing.
Going west do 60 when you see the sign. But whenever you pass the first exit or see the Patrol car* it is safe to speed up a litte.
*REMINDER: There is only one Patrol car on the bridge at a time if you see it on the oppisite side of the bridge you probablly wont see another until you get off.
I-12 east, Millerville Rd. exit
Usually on Saturday morning, the local, BR, police will hide behind the interstate sign on the Millerville bridge. This gives the a clear 2 mile view. Unless you know they’re there, you’ll never see them. I-12 east is 3 lanes and marked for 60 mph.
I-10 east of downtown
Lidar trap around a 90-degree curve, about 150 yards after turn. Local yokel (Baton Rouge PD). White late-model Camaro. Limit is 60…cited for 76. NO slack cut. Cop was very mechanical albeit not rude which leads me to believe this is a routine trap. At least I discovered my Valentine One does pick up Lidar. No previous blips triggered.
