Garyville, Louisiana Speed Traps

St. John Sheriff”s deputies park in the Garyville Vol Fire Dept lot and use hand-held radars along the side of the street. This location is in a curve connecting two rather long straight-aways on Hwy 44. This way they can get you coming from either direction. Speed limit is 45 and they use both radar and lidar. They like to catch morning and afternoon commuters who use Hwy 44 instead of US 61. Officers are very hard to see standing on side of road because their cruisers parked well out of sight in the Fire dept parking lot.
