Jefferson Parish, Louisiana Speed Traps

Sherriff’s Department sits on west side of overpass on the West bound side of I-10, just before the number 51 mile marker. As a car passes, the officer targets "speeders." They will pull over as many vehicles as they can at ONE time! We were pulled over after the officer tagged (apparently by radar though we were not shown or allowed to see this reading on OUR vehicle)a car in front of us that was allegedly doing 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. When we called to see if this was legal, we were told that pulling over more than one car at once is legal there. It was stated that if the car in front of us was speeding, and we were behind them, then we were speeding as well.

Every Sunday morning they patrol a one mile section just as you get into Kenner on I-10 East bound. The mile section is from the interstate bridge to the first exit Williams blvd.
