Ruddock, Louisiana Speed Traps
Interstate 55 N and S near 6 miles either side of Ruddock and Manchac Exits
My girlfriend and I have both been stopped on weekend mornings and been issued citations from airplanes. They work both directions of the highway at different times. The big white stripes on the road at random locations are how they time you. There’s no other device than a stopwatch. Big case for human error so fight it. We both got out of our tickets.
Interstate 55 near Exit Number 7
Police wil sit around the turn at the 4,6,&7 mile markers north bound. Usually after rush hour especially on Fridays. There are two lines between the 10.9 and 10.6 mile markers on the south bound side where the airplane will clock you and the troopers will be flagging you down and writing tickets at the 7 mile marker(Ruddock Exit).
Interstate 55 near Exit Number Ruddock Exit
About 2 miles from exit there are stripes on the road 1/4 of a mile apart. The chase cars set up around the curve at the Ruddock exit. The plane is usually up on Saturday or Sunday if the weather is clear. On occasion they will also just have radar/laser around the curve.
