Saint Francisville, Louisiana Speed Traps
Saint Francisville city limits on US61
After the completion of the 4lane project, the state removed the road construction speed limits. They are in the process of determining the appropriate speed on the new larger highway. In the meantime the police chief has illegally posted his own signs, and is ticketing motorist at a high rate.
Highway 61N at Thompson Creek Bridge
Just south of bridge, northbound traffic goes from two lanes to one at the beginning of a construction project. Speed limit is reduced from 65 to 55 to 45. There is a downward grade and curve. Troopers sit just out of sight on the downgrade. Also sometimes sit on north side of bridge to catch those exceeding 45 mph limit coming down a grade and curve from the north.
State Highway 61
Coming in to town headed north, from Baton Rouge, on the hill to the left next to the old "Cotton’s" resturant. Mainly watching for people passing on the shoulder at this light being there is no turning lane for the traffic turning left anf the light doesn’t last long.
Also after this red light, there are numerous speeding hideouts until you reach the other end of town. It then turns back to 55 mph. Some leeway here, most of the time a warning.
On Hwy. 61 thru the town.
Constantly hiding in parking lots of private own business. Also riding back & forth thru town.
