Turkey Creek, Louisiana Speed Traps
Turkey Creek highway 167 north
Highway 167 north in Turkey Creek from Ville Platte headed to I-49 they gave me a 40 in a 50
There’s no absolutely no 40 mph sign. The only sign there is a 55mph sign. When I was pulled over I was 50 feet from the 55 mph sign. You can’t do the speed limit if you don’t know what the speed limit is I’ve always known Turkey Creek to be a speed trap so I surely wouldn’t be speeding there. This happened on 12/23/21.

Local police officers are patrolling within the city limits of Turkey Creek, La on LA 13 – by radar. When the sign indicates a change from 55 to 45 you need to do so or you will be stopped. When we were stopped the officer stated we were doing a certain speed. When we asked to see the radar – for the speed and it was not what he stated he said that it was because he stopped tracking when the speed was ‘x’ above the posted number. We were given a ticket and paid the fine via mail. Come to find out this is a locally well known speed trap for this community – cathing locals as well as visitors alike.
