Winnipeg, Manitoba Speed Traps
Sifton Road Westbound east of University Crescent – U of M
Winnipeg Police Service sits here on the northern edge of the parking lots monitoring traffic by radar some weekdays during late morning into lunch hour. Pedestrians and cyclists are normally quite sparse and if traffic is light, it is easy (and tempting) to exceed the posted speed limit of 30 km/h.
Perimeter at Wilkes
Construction zone drops to 70, cops waiting at the ends who can and will stop entire lines of cars passing through. Occasionally will have BOTH the camera and a truck ahead to catch people who only slowed down for the camera.
Waverley Heights – Markham and Chancellor.
Coming off Pembina, the school zone starts much earlier than anticipated. You have to slow down almost right after you turn onto Markham, even though the school isn’t until you round the corner onto Chancellor. Camera is parked on the side of the road/cross street/hydro station and will tag you just as you cross over the tracks.
Southbound McGregor at Machray
A dark blue Dodge minivan is parked at the northwest corner of Mcgregor and Machray, so if you’re southbound on Mcgregor be careful.
