Berlin, Maryland Speed Traps
Route US 50 thru Berlin, MD
A portion of Route US 50 travels through a small portion of Route US 50. The speed limit on US 50 before Berlin MD is about 65, and as soon as you cross the the portion of US 50 that goes a corner of Berlin, MD the speed drops to 45 mile per hour and then 40 miles per hour. The police, both State and Local, like to park just past the 45 mile per hour speed limit sign, and wait for cars coming down US 50 to pass the Berlin, MD city line to catch them for going over the speed limit.
The best advice, if you are heading to Ocean City on US 50, is to generally keep your speed below the 65 mile per hour speed limit and to keep an eye on your GPS to let you know when you are getting close to the city line of Berlin, MD and slow down to 45 miles per hour or 40 miles per hour before you get close to the Berlin, MD city line.
