Chevy Chase, Maryland Speed Traps

Photo camera in effect at all times between Chevy Chase Circle and the Washington Beltway. Anyone traveling more than 40 in the 30 mph area is photographed and fined. Traffic moves quickly and you must slow down to avoid a ticket.

There is usually an officer sitting on either side of Connecticut Avenue north of the D.C. border in Chevy Chase. If he catches you going above 35 (speed limit 25), you will get a ticket.

Southbound Connecticut traffic is watched from the 4-H Center driveway, in the 7000 block. It’s a long straight-a-way w/out traffic lights, so speeds can spool up and be most surprised when an officer in tan steps from the curb or pulls out in a cruiser, during less pleasant weather.
