Church Hill, Maryland Speed Traps
State Route Rt. 300 near Church Hill Park
State Troopers usually sit on Rt. 300 in the area of the Church Hill Park. Speed limit going east from town is 25 and changes to 35 until your well out of town and way past the park. The speed limit is also 35 heading west coming into town and drops to 25 as you enter town. State Troopers usually sit right around the park where speed limit changes. I got stopped and the Trooper told me that they had a bunch of accidents involving pedestrians and kids so people wanted them to sit there more. Fines are pretty high.
Elementary School Parking Lot (md 19)
VERY common for cops to sit in the school parking lot and nab people coming in and out of town. They seem equally concerned with seatbelts as well, so even if you drive the limit make sure you’re buckled up. Also, there is a cop (MSP) that lives on the outside of town (on 19 towards 301) who parks his car along the road but is NEVER actually in the car….just a scare tactic.
