Carlisle, Massachusetts Speed Traps
Lowell Street near North Road
Patrol car hides off on the shoulder up on rise just south of North Road and Curve Street with K-band radar contantly on. This is the section of shoulder which is not part of Great Brook Farm State Park.
North Road near Farm buildings
This narrow, curving road has a low speed limit (20mph), poor site lines and no shoulder. During parts of the day, there is dog-walking, X-country skiing, jogging, and biking. Patrol cars frequently travel this stretch of road with K-band on constantly. It’s tempting to speed down this twisty stretch (especially at night), but ill-advised for reasons already given.
Rt 225 at Curve Street
Hides over rise just down Curve St, monitors Rt.225 in either direction, usually continuous K band. Area posted at 30, most traffic safely goes at least 40. Most common both late AM rush and mid to late PM rush hours. Be friendly! Carlisle cops give mostly warnings, unless you talk your way into a ticket…!
